Student Attendance & Participation Policy

This article outlines key expectations for success as a Tech Academy student, including attendance policy & participation requirements.

Updated this week

At ACI Learning, consistent attendance and active participation are critical to student success. Our programs are designed to be immersive, and full engagement is essential to mastering course material and completing required labs.

Attendance Expectations

  • Students are expected to attend 100% of scheduled class sessions, arriving on time and remaining for the full duration of class each day.

  • A minimum of 80% attendance is required to remain in good standing, receive a Certificate of Completion, and continue to the next course in the program.

  • We do not differentiate between excused and unexcused absences. Any missed time will be counted against your attendance percentage. See the school catalog Make-Up Work Policy for mitigating circumstances.

  • Students must attend class in the modality in which they are enrolled. For on-site programs, only in-person attendance counts toward required hours—virtual attendance (e.g., Zoom) will not be credited.

Participation Requirements

  • Students are expected to be active participants in class by:

    • Engaging in discussions

    • Fulfilling all coursework and lab requirements

    • Bringing necessary materials

    • Demonstrating a professional and respectful attitude

  • Consistent non-participation, tardiness, or leaving class early will be recorded and may impact your attendance and standing in the program.

Communication

  • If you know you will be absent or late, you are required to notify your instructor or email support@acilearning.com in advance whenever possible.

  • Communication helps us support you, but please note that all absences or missed time are still counted toward your attendance total.

Program Impact

Failure to meet the attendance and participation requirements may result in removal from the program or ineligibility to move forward to the next course.

We are committed to supporting your success—please reach out if you need help staying on track.
